Dr. B. Gunasekaran is an experienced academician serving as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department in the Department of Commerce at Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. With more than 13 years of teaching experience, he possesses strong academic and administrative expertise in Commerce and Management education. He holds a Ph.D. in Commerce and has completed M.Phil. in Commerce with distinction, along with postgraduate qualifications including M.Com., M.B.A. (Marketing), and M.F.M., which reflect his interdisciplinary academic foundation. His teaching career spans reputed institutions such as Nehru Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Aadhavan College of Arts and Science, and Valluvar College of Science and Management, complemented by industry experience in accounting and finance sectors.
Dr. Gunasekaran has made notable contributions to research, with publications in UGC-CARE listed and peer-reviewed international journals focusing on marketing strategies, consumer behaviour, labour migration, street vendors, and MSME development. He has actively participated in and presented papers at national and international conferences and has served as a resource person for academic webinars. His professional engagement includes organizing faculty development programmes, student webinars, workshops, and certification courses. He has also undertaken key institutional responsibilities such as NAAC Department Coordinator, IQAC Member, Board of Studies Member, Exam Cell Member, and SWAYAM–NPTEL SPOC Coordinator. Through his academic leadership, research orientation, and student-centric initiatives, Dr. B. Gunasekaran continues to contribute significantly to quality assurance, curriculum development, and holistic growth of commerce education within the institution.
