National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides an opportunity to the students of Graduate & Post Graduate level colleges of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The sole aim of NSS is to provide hands on experience to the youth in delivering community service.

Our College is a part of NSS from 2015 with our students actively volunteering for various workshops, training programmes and extension activities conducted. They also attend camps organised by the college at different rural locations and take part in various regional, state-level and national-level camps organized by the government of India. Our NSS officer Mr. I. Gobi, Assistant Professor ably leads our unit of 100 volunteers.

The NSS unit of our college has conducted numerous programmes such as yoga day celebrations, Swachh Bharat Internship, Nutrition Awareness Day, Mass tree plantation drive, Observance of National days and weeks of significance such as Vigilance Awareness week, Constitution day, Road Safety Week, Cycling Rallies, Cleaning of schools and Painting of the walls of the pediatric ward of the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
