As per guidelines of Ministry of Education, Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science – Institute Innovation Council is being setup in the institution. Pre-incubation and incubation activities are initiated for nurturing innovations and startups. The processes and mechanisms for nurturing of Startups by alumni and potential start up applicants even from outside the institutions are encouraged

Key Objectives
The Student Startup & Innovation Policy of Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science aims to create an integrated, state-wide innovation ecosystem to support innovations and ideas of young students and provide a conductive environment for optimum harnessing of their creative pursuit.
- Developing student centric Innovation and Preincubation Ecosystem for Students (IPIES)
- Creating environment for creativity to flourish and an end-to-end support system in educational institutions to allow ample support to ideas for better execution
- Build internal capacity of educational institutions and key components of the innovation ecosystem to enable deployed processes to make sustainable impact at scale
- Create pathways for mind to market by harnessing and handholding projects/ research/ innovation/ ideas of students in the Institution
- Creating and facilitating sectorial and regional innovation efforts in state around educational institutions
- Create a common platform to showcase, support and upscale innovations for motivating stakeholders as well as for an opportunity to create value for money
- Leverage public system initiatives at state and central level, academia, industries and by other ecosystem stakeholders / domain experts and institutions to make an inclusive effort

- Support student-led innovations per year and aim to file patents from the institutions every year
- Empower universities and educational institutes to build a robust Innovation and Preincubation support systems within
- Create incentives, awards, appreciations and benchmarks for innovation and student startups and associated efforts at all layers
- Build capacity to have a robust pre incubation support for student / alumni startups and Innovations
- Undertake strategic interventions to empower all universities in the state to develop full-fledged pre incubation ecosystem in the next 5 years
- Ensure that the innovation processes link academia, society and SMEs through systematic ways so that students and faculty solve their challenges and create further entrepreneurial opportunities

In synchronization with various central efforts like the Make In India, Startup India, Atal Innovation Mission, National Innovation Council etc., the institution is continuously involved in creating some concrete steps to support creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
INSTITUTION’S INNOVATION COUNCIL (IIC)

Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ ‘Innovation cell’ with a purpose of systematically fostering the culture of Innovation in all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the country. The primary focus of MIC is to encourage the creative energy, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and innovation and promote them to create start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures. A cluster of these initiatives powered with the aegis of IIC promotes innovation in the Institution.
MENTORING
- Mentoring and relevant services can be offered for the student’s either in-return for fees, equity sharing or on zero payment bases. The mentoring facilities are provided exclusively by our team of faculty members through SKACAS – IIC
- The mentors help the students to focus on emerging innovation technologies and identifying potential problems from diverse industry verticals, and to get hands-on experience in industries, if needed. Eventually it helps them to innovate, incubate and evolve their ideas into a start-up.
- The panel of industry members guides incubates in shaping up the new ventures.
INDUSTRY COLLABORATIONS
- Our Institution identifies the industrial expectation and promotes institutional preparation for meeting industrial needs by facilitating sponsored R&D projects, seminars, workshops and various other industrial training programs.
- Industry Institute partnerships reflects in equipping faculty to latest practices and makes the students industry-ready by providing exposure to current industry practices, and hone their skills to adapt to changing technologies.
- The primary focus is to interact with elite industries in and around Coimbatore, and extend the efforts in establishing partnership with industries across the country in near future.
