Vision

To develop the personality and communication skill of the students and to make them excel in corporate knowledge and fulfill the expectations of the IT sector and Banking and Insurance sectors. To create young Leaders with global outlook in, consonance with liberalized, Economic Scenario.

Objectives

• To provide basic understanding about Commerce and Computer Applications.
• The specialization subjects are of Accounting, Banking, Insurance, Computer Language, Software and Software application in the Commerce.
• To provide a sound intellectual base from which an advanced career in Computer Application can be developed.
• To make the student familiar with the mechanism of conducting business dealings through electronic media.

The B.Com (Computer Applications) program describe accomplishments that graduates are expected to attain within five to seven years after graduation

• PEO1 – To provide students with specific knowledge and skills relevant to their disciplines and careers.
• PEO2 – To make the students acquainted with technical and practical concepts for understanding the real business problems using different programming languages.
• PEO3 – To train the students on practical business applications using high level programming languages in real world.
• PEO4- To make the students aware about the useful applications of different computer languages that solve real world problems.

• The department organizes monthly one Guest lecture in the classrooms for B.Com CA by company secretaries and auditors from eminent companies.
• Administers customized training programs for business by providing Tally Certification in tie up with Tally academy.
• Seeking input from MNC the Department has MoU for the Finance and Accounting Elective course with Tata Consultancy Services.
• Striving for independent thinkers and personal growth the Department offers Spoken Tutorial and Digital Marketing certification.
• Maintains a high standard of performance, to the achievement of academic and professional goals by offering National Accounting Talent Search Examination, Economic Talent Examination.
• The Department endeavors in guiding and encouraging students to complete various online certification courses though NPTEL and other portals.
• All students are envisioned to present and publish papers in various State, National and International Level Conferences and Seminars.
• The student academic plan, course material, lecture plans are sent to the wards one week ahead of their sessions through Google classroom.
• All the classes are equipped with smart boards and the department encourages on E-learning and M-learning to keep pace with global technology trends and enhancing traditional instruction with technology to prepare students for success in the work place.

• Five Alumni talks were organized to guide students on career opportunities, campus placements, future skills, pre-placement training, and professional growth.
• Two Expert talks were held on careers in photography and technical concepts to enhance students’ domain knowledge.
• A seminar on security markets and the role of regulators was conducted to introduce students to capital market operations.
• A workshop on research methodology was organized to familiarize students with research concepts and practices.
• Three E-quizzes were conducted on photography, democracy, and consumer rights to promote awareness and knowledge enhancement.

2022-2023

• A webinar on Financial Literacy was conducted to enhance students’ understanding of basic financial concepts and money management.
• Five seminars were organized on entrepreneurship, investment awareness, electronic payment systems, revenue management, and income tax provisions to strengthen students’ academic and practical knowledge.
• A visit to an orphanage was carried out to instill social responsibility and community service values among students.
• The Department Valedictory Function was conducted to commemorate the completion of the academic year and recognize students’ achievements.

2021-2022

• 13 Webinars were organized on diverse themes such as intellectual property rights, POCSO awareness, health, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, taxation, design thinking, legal awareness, branding, and social responsibility to enhance students’ academic, professional, and life skills.
• A seminar on Petroleum Conservation and Risk Factors of LPG Gas was conducted to create awareness about energy conservation and safety measures.
• Two Alumni interaction sessions were organized to guide B. Com CA students by sharing academic orientation, career guidance, and professional experiences.
• A photography club activity on Underwater Photography was held to develop students’ creative and technical skills.
• Two Quizzes related to World Students’ Day and Vigilance Awareness were conducted to promote awareness, integrity, and active student participation.

2020-2021

• Three webinars were organized on life skills and career guidance to support students’ personal development and career planning.
• Various photo contests were organized during Diwali, Christmas & New Year, and Pongal celebrations to encourage creativity and cultural participation among students.
• Pledges were conducted in connection with National Voters’ Day to promote civic responsibility.
• An E-Quiz was conducted on Human Rights Day to create awareness about human rights and social justice.
