The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) was established in the year 2022, the college was affiliated to Bharathiar University.
The department has well equipped laboratories. Licensed software such as R-program MATLAB, Oracle and Microsoft products are used to conduct laboratory experiments. Facilities are available to carry out projects in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, IOT, Computer Networks, Cyber Security & Cyber Forensics domains. The department encourages students to take up MOOC based online courses in SWAYAM-NPTEL, Coursera and Udacity.
The department has four highly qualified and motivated faculty members out of which three are Doctorates from recognized universities with diverse specializations like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Adhoc Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Software Engineering etc. All faculties are involved in research and technical paper publications in reputed technical journals, conferences across the world. They are the members of prestigious professional bodies like ISTE, ISSS, CRSI, and CSI. IEEE and CSI Students Chapter has been set up.
The department has been organizing seminars, workshops in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning stream to imbibe lifelong learning. Department invites industry experts to deliver sessions related to syllabus to enable the students to get industry exposure. The department encourages the students to conduct and participate in extra-curricular &sports activities.
The department has MoUs with leading IT Industries such as EMC Corporation, TCS and Li2 Innovations etc. It organizes Industry-Institute Interaction programmes such as Industrial visits and Internships with the industries such as TCS Technologies, Netgear etc. Students are placed, both in India and abroad, in several leading National and International companies.

M.Lalithambigai.,MSc.,MPhil.,MSc(App.Psy).,PhD., is an accomplished academician serving as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with over a decade of teaching and academic leadership experience. She holds strong academic credentials in computer applications and research, with her doctoral work focused on data mining and medical image processing. Her professional expertise spans data science, machine learning, image processing, and analytics. As a committed educator and administrator, she has actively contributed to curriculum development, quality assurance initiatives, faculty development programs, and academic events. Her leadership has played a significant role in strengthening the Data Science department, fostering research culture, and mentoring students toward academic excellence and industry readiness.
She has published 37 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals and has presented 31 research papers in various national and international seminars and conferences. Her scholarly impact is reflected in an h-index of 4 and an i10-index of 1. She has continuously enriched her teaching methodologies by participating in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and seminars conducted by prestigious institutions such as IIT Bombay, and by successfully completing NPTEL courses. She has received research and academic funding twice from DRDO for organizing workshops on Optimization Modelling and Cyber Security. As an invited speaker, she has delivered expert lectures at various institutions. She has also played a key role in academic administration by organizing conferences, seminars, FDPs, and webinars, contributing significantly to academic and professional development initiatives.

- Mohammed Reehan Khan I, student of II B.Sc. AI & ML (A), has won Gold Medal in the Bharathiar University Inter-Collegiate Boxing Tournament 2025 held at Nehru Arts and Science College. In this tournament, 15 colleges competed in the 55kg–60kg weight category, and he emerged as the champion with an outstanding performance.
