About the Department
Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2015, with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Information Technology and to prepare students for jobs in industry, business or government, scientific applications in research laboratories and, for higher education. Information Technology in the curriculum zealously helps the students to build a solid foundation of knowledge and achieve specific learning objectives that will help them progress towards their goals. Prepare students to enhance confidence, creativity, leaders, decision makers, articulate and principled, innovative and confident, and able to think critically with sound reasoning ability. Enriching the students to be eligible for the highest paying jobs in various MNCs like Infosys, TCS, CTS, Wipro IBM, and HCL etc., which involve software development, web designing, software testing and much more. The Department also organizes various academic and non- academic events for the students through the Association.
The association is providing an opportunity to the students for their interaction and for academic development through the arrangements of Workshops/ Seminars and Guest Lectures. Students are motivated to organize and participate in conferences, Seminars, Intercollegiate meet where the students from various colleges can come together to present the paper for further enrichment of their knowledge. Industrial Visit empowers the students to gain practical knowledge and observe the practical scenarios in the industries.
To deepen the knowledge and for exploration towards academic progress, students are guided to publish papers in various publications. Tutor ward outbound programme offered students a great opportunity to immerse themselves in a learning environment which makes sense in the way you want to educate them. The department conducts Tutor ward meeting twice in a month for receiving student’s suggestions academically. The department systematizes Remedial Classes for slow learners to improve their learning skill.

Objective
The intent of the Information Technology program is to produce graduates who are able to achieve the following objectives: To encourage higher-level thinking and creativity through Information and Communication Technology or ICT.To promote computer-based educational resources.
The B.Sc. Information Technology program describes accomplishments that graduates are expected to attain within five to seven years after graduation.
PEO1 – To obtain in-depth knowledge of software and hardware techniques, which provide a compact foundation to pursue continuing education and nurture the talent for innovation and research.
PEO2 – To Engage in the Information Technology related Profession locally and globally by contributing ethically to the competent and professional practices.
PEO3 – To enable Graduates will be skilled in the use of modern tools for critical problem solving and analyzing industrial and societal requirements.
PEO4 – To train the graduates in diversified and applied areas with analysis, design and synthesis of data to create novel products and solutions to meet current industrial and societal needs.
PEO5 – To nurture talent in leadership qualities, at levels appropriate to their experience, which addresses issues in a responsive, ethical, and innovative manner.

- Department of Information Technology @ Sri Krishna Adithya college of Arts and Science is adopting various best Practices for transforming and empowering students from diverse backgrounds ranging from underprivileged sections to affluent ones.
- One of the best practices is nurturing the potential of students, enabling them, empowering them to carve their unique paths.It helps to facilitate self-growth, self-worth and actualization of potential of the students through myriad ways of empowerment and competence building.
- Practices like experiential learning, using the method of involving students to work with various cloud based platforms like Canva for design and encouraging the students to handle seminar using the power-point presentations and helping them to organize their thinking process which in-turn inculcate and build professional skills, using audio-visual aides by means of state of art infrastructure facilities that is the Smart boards and Projector facilities available in all class rooms and holding talks by experts from industries.
- The teaching culture here seeks to highlight and thereby have the students appreciate that the true essence of life lies outside the bounds of black and white, and in a wide varieties of shades. Practice such as appreciating text is to enable students to draw life-world reflected in the text.
- The students learn to think beyond and start an educative experience on range not limited by these extremities. This is also possible through the individualized mentoring and counseling that the teachers provide to the students.
- The Institution has tie up with Oracle Academy, Red Hat, and Palo Alto Networks to help students fraternity to upgrade themselves in disruptive technologies. Fire Side Chat is organized with Experts to bridge the gap between Industry and Institute and it enables the students to update themselves in the emerging technologies.
- The Students are encouraged to participate in the Smart India Hackathone, Startup mania, Yuva Start events by offering necessary training and support to them to explore in the field of Information Technology.
